SAPS seeks monster who tortured 86-yo-old Mrs Engela Nel in Nylstroom/Modimolle home

for the horrific torture inflicted for hours on the old lady.

SAPS colonel Ronél Otto said they are 'urgently searching for Kemp, who may assist them in their investigation.
The elderly lady was attacked by Kemp, who worked for her for the past years in her garden,
after he allegedly tortured her for hours in her home. He had just been paid for the day's work as she always did, but he
suddenly grabbed her by the throat, strangled her and hit her with such force over the head that she lost consciousness.
When she woke up she had a rope around her neck and was tied up hands and feet to her bed.
Mrs Nel, 86, who lives at the high-security compound at Zebra Park, still showed the bruises when she was photographed a week after her ordeal.
The police issued the photograph three weeks later, hoping that the public could help in the arrest of Kemp.
Mrs Nel's daughter Estelle Pretorius said her mother now is at her home as her attacker is still at large.
"My mother is a strong woman, while she was being tortured for hours, she prayed that God would work in her attacker 'so that he will let her go."
The attacker claimed that he needed the money for a 'sangoma', a 'traditional healer'.
The details of the torture were not revealed but 'afterwards she was locked up in the study'.
Mrs Nel tried to flee at one stage, managing to locate a duplicate key to the study she'd been locked up in,
but when she opened the door she was grabbed around the neck again and locked back in.
The attacker searched the house for cash for hours. Towards midnight he eventually left her home, driving her care and taking her TV, bank-card and cellphone.
After her torturer drove off, she broke a glass door to get out of her heavily-secured home and called for her neighbours.

’n Bejaarde vrou van Modimolle (Nylstroom) het gebid vir haar tuinwerker wat haar glo ure lank in haar huis gemartel het omdat hy geld gesoek het.
Engela Nel (86) van die Zebra Park-veiligheidsoord se gesig was meer as ’n week ná die aanval op Woensdag 19 Maart steeds pimpel en pers van die aanranding.
Die Pos berig Nel se tuinwerker van die afgelope vyf jaar het haar aangeval omdat hy R3000 gesoek het om glo ’n sangoma te betaal.
Kol. Ronel Otto, polisiewoordvoerder, sê daar word dringend na Thomas Madimetsha Kemp (39) gesoek.
’n Foto van Kemp is eers eergister aan die media verskaf. Die polisie het nie die media van die aanval ingelig toe dit gebeur het nie.
Nel is oorval toe sy Kemp vir sy dag se werk betaal en hy R3000 gevra het. Sy is om haar nek gegryp, gewurg en hard op die kop geslaan. Sy het haar bewussyn verloor en wakker geword in haar kamer met ’n tou om haar nek gebind. Haar hande en voete was ook met toue aan die bed vasgebind. Sy het nie gevoel in haar hande en voete gehad nie omdat dit so styf vasgebind was. Die marteling het ure lank geduur. Nel het terwyl sy vasgebind was vir haar tuinwerker ’n gebed opgesê.
“Sy het gebid dat die Here in hom moet werk sodat hy haar moet laat gaan,” het Estelle Pretorius, haar dogter, gesê.
Sy is later in die studeerkamer toegesluit terwyl die aanvaller die huis deursoek het. Sy het ’n duplikaatsleutel in die studeerkamer gekry en die deur oopgesluit. Sy is toe weer om haar nek gegryp en wéér in die studeerkamer toegesluit. Teen middernag het die aanvaller in haar motor met haar selfoon, bankkaart en TV gevlug. Sy het ’n glasdeur in haar huis gebreek en bure het toe gaan help.![]()
