SAPS spokesman w/o Langeni of Utrecht refused to reveal the name of the black male who was convicted, nor any details about the case. It was heard in the Newcastle magistrate's court SAPS case Nr 01092013. The murder was mentioned briefly in 2013 in the local New Age newspaper. The murders of Afrikaners are often not published in the SA mainstream news media. If his sister hadn't let us know, we would never have known about it.

UTRECHT magistrate's court, KZn September 4 2014: -
The sister of the murdered man writes us on September 5 2014: "I just received this information from Warrant Officer Langeni: "Your brother's case has been finalised: the accused (NO NAME) HAS BEEN sentenced to ten years imprisonment.
The reason (for the low sentence) advanced by the court was that he had pleaded guilty to the murder, and that he was a first offender.'

Johannes Christiaan Lodewyk Harding, 37, was stabbed to death Sept 1 2013 at the Utrecht Hotel where he worked. Nothing was robbed. The circumstances remain murky, however the SAPS Newcastle (investigating warrant officer Langeni confirmed that this murder occurred, that two black males were arrested, and the case number is (utrecht) Nr 01092013'. The case is handled by the Newcastle SAPS w/o Langeni. His sister Elna reports that they 've also arrested two black males who have already appeared in court on remand and have not been asked to plead as yet. She reported on November 2 2013 that the investigating police officer has successfully opposed bail, writing her: "I succesfully opposed bail for accused no. 2 now the case is remanded for 2013-11-28 for Newcastle regional court date so in the meantime the case will be perused by regional court to see if they are satisfied with investigation if so they will take the case over for trial:

(IT APPEARS as if Utrecht does not have a police station even though it has a population of 32,000 people of whom 20% are Afrikaans speaking whites). The cases are handled by the Newcastle saps.
