Police suspect the motive for the shooting was robbery althugh they don't know if anything was actually robbed.
"They are investigating a link between the Janine Geere shooting on Wednesday night and this morning’s attack in the same area.
Van der Westhuizen was rushed to Netcare The Bay Hospital. The shooting was caught on CCTV and police are searching for the suspect.
THE 27-year-old Arboretum man (earlier police referred to him as a 'teenager') is in a critical condition in Netcare The Bay Hospital.

suffered multiple gunshot wounds when an intruder attacked him at the family home in Arboretum on Tuesday morning.
Van der Westhuizen was about to leave for work at the time of the shooting.
