Two seperate murders at Middelvlei smallholdings, Randfontein thus far in October 2014

It is not known if the arrested suspect was actually previously known to the victim or whether he followed her home from the pub to murder her. On the night of 22 October when an elderly couple pulled into the driveway of their Middlevlei home they were met by unknown black male intruders. Just as they got out of their vehicle, they were shot at. It's possible that the intruders had already been inside the house while the couple were away; this according to a close friend of the couple after speaking to the victim’s wife. The elderly man lost his life after sustaining a fatal gunshot wound. Netcare 911 and other emergency services found the man lifeless on the scene and could not do anything to save him.His wife was not shot but was assaulted before reaching the safety of the house.Netcare 911 states that “reports from the scene indicate that the shooting incident took place during a "robbery” around 11pm. Police says they will investigate the exact details of the incident. It's not known what was 'robbed'. The death of this elderly man is a great ironic tragedy as a close friend of the couple described him as generous person always willing to help people in need. The woman was very likely murdered by a 37yo suspect arrested by the police when it was discovered that the suspect and the woman were engaged in a row at a tavern earlier. It is not known if the suspect was actually previously known to the murder victim or not. Clinton Botha 15 October 2014 -- Witnesses say that they heard the victim being assaulted during the night. The body of another woman was found in Middelvlei, confirms police. Randfontein Police spokesperson Captain Appel Ernst says, “On 6 October at 6am police discovered the body of a 49-year-old woman in Middelvlei. “Witnesses say that they heard the victim being assaulted during the night. Police investigated and found that the victim had been assaulted brutally. “Police discovered information on the scene about the suspect.
