An elderly wife of Bronkhorstspruit was tied up for ten days without food or water next to the body of her husband Louis du Toit, 76, shot dead by black thugs in their Rooth Street home.
The couple had been attacked in their garage. "She was too traumatised to speak, was badly dehydrated and hadn't eaten anything for ten days." said constable Zanele Vilakaze of the local police.
Mrs Du Toit was taken to Mamelodi hospital for 'trauma treatment'.
The police were called to the crime scene at around 0h7h30. They refer to the attack as a robbery but said 'we are not certain as to what exactly was stolen'.
Strangely for a sonamed 'robbery', Mr Du Toit's hunting rifle was still found at the scene.
