Police say Green succumbed to internal injuries after being shot in the stomach by a group of men that attacked him early this morning. The suspects are alleged to have stolen Green’s bakkie, cellphone, laptop and other valuables before fleeing the scene. Police have opened a murder and armed robbery case and an investigation is already underway. Today (Mnday, 5 January 2015), Mchunu expressed anger, shock and condemned Green’s murder, urging anyone who might have any information that might lead to arrests of those responsible for his death to come forward. I am deeply shocked by this farm killing incident. Such incidents should be strongly condemned. I am assured that members of the police are working around the clock to ensure that those who are responsible for this cold-blooded murder are brought to book as soon as possible,” said Mchunu.
