Hospital management didn't provide her surgeon with permission to operate there - and the surgeon didn't feel it was safe to operate the frail patient on a wobbly theatre-bed - and the narcotics-technician said the machine leaked. Ms Visagie had to wait helplesslessly for ten hours while she was 'prepared for surgery' and waited another two outside the operating theatre, needlessly. Doctors believe her chance of walking again is about one percent. "I have already been in this devastating heat in Pelonomi hospital. One doctor told me that my T6 and T7 vertebrae are cracked so badly that they will not regrow by themselves. Visagie's surgery now is scheduled for Tuesday. Fanie Olivier, 58 was involved in an accident on 5 October 2013 and metal pins were inserted in his left-leg at the Pelonomi hospital that same day. He was discharged a week later. A month later he was back with a badly swollen leg. In January 2014 he again had to be taken to Pelonomi hospital but they said his 'leg is mending well - however two months later it was discovered that the screws keeping the pins in his leg together were broken. And then he was back and forth to Pelonomi while he was scheduled and re-scheduled for admission to treat the problem. Excuses were that 'the bed was broken, or the equipment was broken.' On 6 November 2014 he was admitted, and again on 2 february 2015. "Now the leg is terribly painful and septic. I can no longer look after my family, he said.' https://www.facebook.com/boerekrisisaksie/photos/pcb.1093040954055782/1093040667389144/?type=1&theater
