Two Murders: Louis du Toit, business manager, Pretoria chicken and meat wholesalers Pretoria North; second murder: unnamed amanager of Toyco Motor Spares:
A second Pretoria West man was killed during a robbery at a business on Monday.
Three armed men entered Toyco Motor Spares in Pretoria West, police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said.
This happened on Soutter Street, several hours after the manager of a business on Eskia Mphahlele Drive was shot dead by three armed men in the morning.
Msimango said the armed robbers entered the car spares store and demanded money from the cashier.
“She gave them an undisclosed amount of money. The owner, however, was outside when he noticed what happened. He walked into the store and came across the armed men.
“When he saw their firearms, he tried to walk out of the shop,” he said.
He said the robbers stopped the owner, who told them he was just a customer. The robbers shot him in the back, killing him on the scene.
“They fled in a white Toyota Corolla. No arrests have been made. We are investigating a case of murder and business robbery,” he said.
Police are still searching for three armed men who shot and killed Louis Du Toit, a business manager at Pretoria Chicken and Meat Wholesale, in the morning. He was leaving the business with a bag containing cash when he was attacked.
The three armed men fled in a red Toyota Corolla which was later found abandoned on Bremer Street.
