One of the three mystery-executioners of Newcastle farmer Timothy Green, 44 has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison at the Madaleni high court in Kwazulu Natal just weeks after the murder on August 11 2013. The trial-details are completely lacking and so is the name of the self-confessed murderer who was sent to prison. Farmer Timothy Green was murdered as follows: (according to SAPS) "On Sunday, 11 August 2013 at approximately 19:00, Timothy Green (44) was in his Willow Green Farm, Newcastle, when he was attacked and allegedly killed by three black male suspects. It is alleged that these unknown men attacked and fatally wounded him. Mr Green was staying alone in a farm next to the Ntshingwayo Dam .He was allegedly first shot on the legs and then in the head and died at the scene. It was reported that the Madadeni High Court Judge (unnamed) had sentenced of the three three (unidentified) accused men late last week, reported Nadia Aziz of the Newcastle Sun on 27 August 2013. She wrote: "Family members of Mr Green feel this was a satisfactory sentence given the harshness of the crime committed. We want to thank the SAPS, especially Warrant Officer Mtshali and Colonel Khawula for their hard work, effort and dedication." said Anthony Green, brother of the deceased. Tim Green was gunned down outside his farm earlier in the month after returning home from a visit."

STATEMENT BY SAPS - 14 Aug 2013 "A team from Newcastle SAPS detectives have worked tirelessly to three suspects for the murder of a farmer. One man was arrested near the mine where he was hiding, another was arrested next to Ekuseni area, the last one was found in the vicinity of the Greens Farm, reports the SAPS. "Two cellphones belonging to the deceased farmer, a shot gun and a box of rounds were also found. Fingerprints of the arrested men were found in the murdered man's kitchen on a wine bottle. The arrested suspects between the ages of 25 and 34 will be charged with murder housebreaking and theft and a possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition. They first appeared in Newcastle Magistrates’ Court on 14 August 2013. Farmer Timothy Green, 44, died on his farm near Chelmsford Dam. He died in a rain of bullets fired from close range by an unknown number of black men.The men ambushed Mr Green when he opened the farm gate. He died trying to hide beneath his bakkie. He died on the scene. n Boer van Newcastle in KwaZulu-Natal is Sondagaand koelbloedig op sy plaas doodgeskiet deur moordenaars wat in die gras by ’n plaashek gelê en wag het.
Timothy Green (44) is doodgeskiet toe hy uit die bakkie geklim het om die hek oop te maak.
Beeld verneem Green het onder die bakkie probeer skuil, maar is nogtans geskiet. Die moord het op sy plaas, Mellon Green, gebeur.

Volgens Mdunge het die moordenaars huishoudelike items in Green se voertuig gelaai.

Timothy Green, ʼn 44-jarige boer, is Sondag deur ʼn onbekende hoeveelheid aanvallers op sy plaas, Mellon Green, naby Chelmsforddam naby Newcastle doodgeskiet.
Kol. Vincent Mdunge het aan Maroela Media bevestig Green se aanvallers het hom omstreeks 19:00 glo by sy plaas is ingang ingewag en op hom begin skiet toe hy gestop het.
Green het probeer om onder sy bakkie weg te kruip, maar is daar doodgeskiet.
Die rede vir die aanval is nog nie bekend nie en die polisie vermoed Green het by die plaas opgedaag terwyl ʼn rooftog plaasgevind het.
Een van Green se bakkies is vol huishoudelike items buite sy huis aangetref.
Niemand is nog in verband met die voorval in hegtenis geneem nie. Die Newcastle-polisie ondersoek ‘n saak van moord.
