Braam Koch 59 Kempton Park Shot In Stomach Assassination Style -- Video Shows Two Black Ambushers The Afrikaner victim is in a critical condition with bullet lodged in spine: emergency surgery: partial removal of colon, one kidney, spleen: 25April2015 Kempton Express journalist Nolwazi Dhlamini reports that this is the second Afrikaner dad who was attacked in Nimrod Park in the Kempton Park area recently. The previous victim, Louis van Blerk, also was shot dead. She writes: "WHAT was meant to be a quiet family dinner turned into a nightmare which left a Nimrod Park man in a critical condition on Monday night. Braam Koch (59) was airlifted to Milpark Hospital after being shot in the stomach during an apparent botched hijacking. The latest update on his condition received on Tuesday morning was that the bullet was still lodged in his back. His one kidney, spleen and part of his colon had been removed on Monday night. The bullet will only be removed as soon as doctors can stabilise him. Koch and his wife Tertia arrived at their son or daughter’s house on Lechwe Road just before 7pm. According to Dwaine Hansen of Alpha Security, Koch had just got out of his car while his wife was already at the door of the house when two armed suspects entered the yard. Footage captured on a neighbours’ security cameras showed the two men outside the home at 18.57pm. “The one suspect hid behind a tree and signalled for his accomplice as soon as the victim and his wife drove into the yard,” Hansen explained. “Upon entering the premises, the suspects went directly to the victim and fired a single shot into his stomach. His wife heard the noise and started screaming. The suspect fired a shot at her, missing Tertia, going through the kitchen window.” Confused and panicking, Tertia got herself into the house. Her husband had fallen to the ground. “The suspects then appeared to be searching Koch. They took his wallet and a cellphone. Spokesman for Netcare 911, Santi Steinmann, confirmed that paramedics attended.“Upon assessment of the injured man, paramedics found that he had sustained critical injuries during the shooting incident,” Steinmann said.Due to the severity of the patient’s condition, he was airlifted to hospital by the Netcare1 helicopter at about 8pm. The chopper landed in the open veld on Concourse Crescent. Police have registered an attempted murder docket. Louis van Blerk (47) was shot and killed in the garden of his home after trying to fight off four armed men during an armed robbery on December 13. According to Captain Jethro Mtshali, spokesman for Kempton Park SAPS, the teenage daughter of the deceased had gone outside to play with the dogs when four suspects entered their home. “She said four men pulled up in a white KIA Sportage. When she saw them, she immediately ran inside the house, screaming, where she pressed the panic button. By the time the men had gained entry into the home, they could only grab two cell phones and ran outside,” Mtshali said.Van Blerk chased after the men and tried to fight them off in the front yard. That was when one of the men fired at him, fatally injuring him in the upper right leg. Both police and neighbours are uncertain about the number of shots fired, but one of the neighbours said he heard about three shots, one of which was fired from another neighbour’s gun, who was in the yard to scare off the robbers.“By the time I arrived on the scene from my house, I found other people already there, attempting CPR on him and trying to stop the bleeding. Alpha and COPS Security were already on the scene,” a neighbour said.“We suspect a shot gun was used because he had a huge gaping whole in his leg, and he was bleeding excessively.” Paramedics declared him dead on the scene.Mtshali confirmed that a case of murder and house robbery is being investigated.Police request anyone with information to contact them on 0860010111 or sms crime line 32211. http://kemptonexpress.co.za/53416/glen-marais-father-murdered-in-front-of-his-family-in-hijacking-gone-wrong/ • Second Glen Marais father gunned down in two weeks http://kemptonexpress.co.za/56948/glen-marais-father-47-shot-killed-trying-fight-robbers/ http://kemptonexpress.co.za/56948/glen-marais-father-47-shot-killed-trying-fight-robbers/
