White motorbike rider dies of mystery-injuries: rushed by ER24 helicopter to hospital from Shongweni
Jan 5 2014 - ER 24 reported on January 5 2014 that an unnamed white motorbiker who had been reported missing a day earlier by his wife, was found next to the road in Shongweni and was rushed in a critical condition to hospital by helicopter." Shortly before 0800 paramedics from ER24 were called to Cliffdale Road in Shongweni where a passing motorist found the man lying several meters away from his bike and called for emergency services.
When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the man with critical injuries including possible head and chest injuries. Due to his condition, paramedics activated a medical helicopter to airlift the man from the scene to Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital for further medical management.
It was only discovered later on that the man was reported missing the previous evening when he did not arrive at home. The exact circumstances regarding the incident are not yet known.
His wife Charlene Hare-Bowers wrote two days later that her husband 'sadly passed away peacefully yesterday, I would like to thank everyone involved in helping him."
