Afrikaner builder Jan Ferreira 53, racially cursed with 'White Pig', peppersprayed, beaten, humiliated and cursed by eight black Bloemfontein metro-cops; (*in yet another false-arrest case). Report by André Damos, Naspers: 23 Jan 2014 - (describes the racist abuse in a trumped-up incident in which an Afrikaner builder was falsely accused of 'drunk driving, assault,and interfering with a criminal investigation' and dumped in a police cell overnight by six black traffic officers in Bloemfontein. The white man said he at no time resisted the brutal treatment meted out to him by eight traffic officers of the Bloemfontein municipality - instead he tried to flee to the nearest police station. He's appearing on 'charges' on 26 June 2014 after he was brutally assaulted, racially cursed and pepper-sprayed. He was enroute home on Tuesday 17h30 Jan212014 when he got stuck in a traffic backup on East-Burger- and Zastron Streets. "The cars were all honking and the drivers were climbing from their cars and nobody knew what was happening. I walked up to one of the officials to ask him what was going on. But before I could even ask, he screamed 'Fuck Off You White Pig' and hit me in the face,' said Ferreira. He got back into his car while two other trafficv officials then assaulted him through his half-open window, one tried to grab his car-keys while another got a neck-hold on him. He told them he would drive to the Navalsig police station because he was scared of them. When he was at the Shell garage trying to get there, a car screeched to a halt in front of him, blocked him and traffic officials jumped out and dragged him from his car, pepper-sprayed him, handcuffed his hands behind him while constantly pummeling his face against his cat-boot until his nose started bleeding. Another official also hit him hard in the stomach during this organized assault. Then the metro-cops drove him to the Parkway SAPS station where he was dumped in a cell overnight after they had first taken him to a hospital to draw blood. One official at the Parkway police station was abusing him with a string of curses, and he said besides the pain he felt deeply humiliated about the racist cursing. "They shocked me: I didn't expect officials would curse and assault me'.
Ferreira said he will never trust another traffic officer again and demands justice before this happens to others. He has lodged formal charges of assault against the officials. SAPS capt Chaka Marope confirmed this, saying they were being investigated. Bloemfontein metro- municipal spokesman Qondile Khedama also said they would be investigating as they wanted 'residents of our town to be treated in a professional manner.'He said especially the 'racism' towards the Afrikaner was condemned 'because we are building a city for all races'.
