Green couple, in their 80s, survive brutalization by sadistic black-male youth gang: report by daughter

Black youth-gang brutalizes frail Green couple (80s) Fordyce Road, Walmer PE: pic by daughter Cathy Kisbey-Green: Cathy Kisbey-Green writes: Jan 29 2014 - My parents home was broken into and attacked in their home in Walmer - Fordyce Road, between 7th and 8th ave, around 2am this morning. They (also) had an attempted break-in just before Christmas and a break-in where a tv was stolen just before New Year's Eve. A gang of around 4 or 5 intruders, wearing balaclavas and gloves (my mum thinks they were young, perhaps teenagers) broke in through one of the bedroom windows -- (knowing of course that the bedroom area was not armed at night). They put a pillowcase over my mum's head and tied her hands tightly together with the belt from her dressing gown. My dad had his hands and feet bound, his mouth gagged with a tie (so tightly that he felt his mouth would split open), they ripped the back of one his ears (he felt they were trying to rip it right off), and they tried to smother him with a pillow. They had dragged him out of bed and onto the floor, pinning him down hard, and telling him they were going to kill him, but he fought like mad. They ransacked the house for around an hour, stealing (only about) several thousand rand from a bureau in one of the bedrooms. They made a terrible mess in 2 of the rooms, pulling out drawers and scattering all the contents of the cupboards all over the floor. My dad managed to get to the panic button and the intruders fled. Thank you so much to Atlas Armed Response who were within 2 minutes. The police and Guardmed were also there within a few minutes. My dad was taken to hospital where he was treated and given a tetanus shot and sedative and then sent home. He is ok, but black and blue all over, and very sore and shaken. I can't believe that anyone could do this to a defenceless old couple - my mum is 80 and my dad nearly 83. I hope that these monsters are soon caught so that they cannot do this to anyone else.
