Suné van Heerden writes that Rudi Lettau who was the deputy-head boy at the Pretoria North Hoërskool (High School) was run down and killed by a metro-police officer while the youth was riding on his bicycle. His headmaster Neels Driescher told Maroela Media on Saturday that Rudi was a brilliant child. "It's as if a diamond has been plucked from the school crown,' he reportedly said. The headmaster said it is believed that Rudi was critcally injured and died at the scene. Warrant officer Matthews Nkoadi confirmed to the publication on Saturday that Rudi was run down and killed by a metropolitian police officer while the child was riding home on his bike.
