White teen held for farm murders of good-samaritans Will and Ane Kiesling, 69 and 66 - 'had drug problem'
2014-04-01 Pietersburg/Polokwane - The 16-year-old boy who was arrested on Monday in connection with the double murder of a farming couple in the Zanzibar district of Limpopo had apparently visited them to "get his head clean".
Beeld reported on Tuesday that the youth apparently had a drug problem and had arrived at the couple's farm three weeks ago.
The decomposing bodies of Will, 69, and Anje, 66, Kiesling were found in their home near the Botswana border last Friday. It is believed they were murdered about four days earlier (on Monday).
Sapa reported on Monday that the youth was arrested at his guardian's house in Mossel Bay on Monday morning. He appeared in the local magistrate's court and will remain in custody. The case was postponed to 7 April as it will be transferred to the Mokopane Magistrate's Court in Limpopo.
According to Beeld, shocked family members did not want to speak about the incident, but the couple's son-in-law said the murder should never have happened in their house.
A friend of the couple said he had met the teenager when he had visited the farm, and that the teenager appeared to be friendly and relaxed
