Elderly white English-speaking South African woman Thelma Smith 76, volunteer at Open Door Crisis Centre, Pinetown: kidnapped, traumatised, dumped near black township

Mrs Thelma Smith, 76, who worked as an unpaid volunteer at the Open Door Crisis Centre in Pinetown was kindapped on Tuesday 5pm and dumped in KwaNdengezi township three hours later.
The thugs who terrorised and dumped the old lady, then were involved in a chase with police. The SAPS and the kidnappers shot it out in a sugar cane field near Hillcrest.
One of the suspects was shot dead. Two others escaped. On Wednesday Thelma Smith, 76, said she was “traumatised but okay” after the ordeal, which started at 5pm.
