Even a week later the badly traumatised Mrs Viljoen finds it impossible to sleep in the house she has called her home for the past 18 years. She is terrified that the 'robbers' will return. She was plucked from her bed last Tuesday around 01h00 by a young man and woman who ripped a golden bracelet from her wrist, rings and a golden hanger. The deeply shocked Mrs Viljoen said she told them she would get the jewellery off herself and told them they were 'hurting her'. They gained access through her burglar-bars in the kitchen. Her children live in seperate homes on the same smallholding. They heard nothing until Mrs Viljoen activated her alamr. She said she had gone to bed and woke up at 1am when she was plucked roughly from her bed by the couple who were barking commands at her."They looked for money but I have none with me. And while the jewellery may be valuable their sentimental value is very high to me. They even took my wedding band I had treasured for fifty years.' The little heart-shaped hanger was given to me by my late husband.' She said the couple terrorised her for about an hour before climbing back through the burglar bars in the kitchen and fleeing. Her daughter in law Neetje Viljoen said she is happy that Mrs Viljoen didn't 'have anything worse happen to her, that she had only lost some valuable jewellery and a cellphone.'"Her life is more valuable than any earthly possessions.
