Murder: Hendrik Frederik Nortman, 74, murdered, wife gang-raped and tortured at Vanderbijlpark home

Jan 9 2014 - 74-year-old Mr Hendrik Frederik Nortman was murdered and his wife, 71, tied up and allegedly raped in a torture-ordeal on Thursday in Langenhoven Street, Vanderbijlpark. SAPS spokesman Kinnie Steyn said a family member went to investigate after they could not reach the couple by phone and found Mr Nortman murdered. His wife was found tied up in their bedroom. A fierce physical assault took place on her, causing her great suffering. He died from his injuries: he was found lying outside the house and it looked as if he had tried to get help. On Friday morning his son (name not mentioned) raised the alarm because he could not reach them by telephone and he called for help.
