Bryanston double-murders – the devastated father - an author and journalist -- speaks out
" A beautiful, warm and sunny Friday morning turned to tragedy for the family of the two deceased Bryanston residents.

2015 Picture: Shocker... the house where the couple was found murdered on the morning of 16 January.
Shocked and heartbroken neighbours, friends and family members descended upon the home of the couple who were found dead early on 16 January. One of the deceased was an award-winning chef.
The couple, whose names are known to the Sandton Chronicle, but cannot be revealed until police investigations are complete and all family members have been notified, were found murdered in their bedroom by a cousin at 6am.
The devastated father, a well-known author and journalist, who also cannot be identified at this stage, described the incident as very traumatic for the family.
“As a family we are all devastated, especially the women in both families,” he said. “A part of us as a family died with them.”
He described the couple as hardworking and who were pivotal in bringing both of their families together.
“One doesn’t deserve to die this way, especially in your own home where you should find refuge, peace and comfort,” he said.
“It reminds us to treasure every moment with loved ones.”
The police are still investigating the matter and cases of murder and theft of a motor vehicle have been opened. The investigation continues.

2 murders 16 Jan 2015: Two people murdered, Bryanston: SAPS brig Lettie Hugo of Randburg reports that a family member who lives in a cottage on the premises of an elderly white couple in Bryanston, Randburg found the two people murdered at 6am on 16 January 2015 in their beds - and their white Audi A3 'taken from the property'.

SAPS brigadier Hugo didn't provide many details: she merely said that 'we can confirm that two people were murdered in Bryanston and a robbery took place but we are still investigating that'.
"Two cases of murder have been opened and a robbery charge may be added later', she said. SAPS captain Doniah Mothutsane said later that 'the couple's bodies were found in a bedroom. I cannot tell you how they were murdered as this forms part of the investigation. Their car was stolen but the motive for the double-murder is unknown'.
